Eating healthy is such a big thing these days and tofu is definitely one of the super food we love. High in protein and fibre, firm tofu gives you more satisfaction without the extra calories. Especially if you are trying to cut down the amount of you eat, choosing something chewy like a firm tofu will give you something to munch on for longer and feel more satisfied. Today I’m going to share with you this super easy tofu sticks that you and your family will love!

Grab your favourite pack of firm tofu and slice them into strips. The firm tofu I used for this recipe is from the Coles Nature’s Kitchen vegan range. I am very impressed with their vegan range, although I am not a vegan myself, I am very eager to try other meatless product in that range.

Heat up your fry pan and oil in low heat, keep the heat low to avoid burning. Pan fry each side of the tofu chip for about a minute until it’s golden brown.
Tip: Turn all the chips to the same direction each time, so that you won’t get confused and miss any side of the chips😉

When the chips are crispy, turn off the heat, sprinkle salt and your favourite spices on top, (here I use Chinese five spice). Quickly stir the seasoning in so that all the chips are evenly coated. And they are all ready to serve!

Eat them alone or with any sauce of your choice. Or if you really crave for the carbs like I do, put them in wraps with your favourite veggies. Don’t be afraid to try different combinations! I have tried it with Hoisin sauce with cucumber, that makes a very yummy vegetarian “Peking duck wraps”. And I also tried it with Taco mix and Salsa. That gave it an exotic Mexican favour. The possibility is endless! Try your own and let me know what’s your favourite combo!
Oh and the missing piece? My 2 years old couldn’t wait to snatch one before I finished plating!!!
