I have two cats, Happy (Ginger girl) and Sweetie (Blue girl). Before Larry and I lived together, I have been sleeping with my furbabies every night. They basically took over my bed. I had to adjust my sleeping pose because they weren’t going to move a centimetre, once they have decided their sleeping spots. They loved sleeping between my legs…it’s like a natural cat hammock that they “sink” into a safe and comfortable place.

Unfortunately, Larry has a cat allergy, so they had to sleep on their own beds when he moved in. We bought different types of beds/boxes for Happy and Sweetie, hoping they would adjust to it and find it as comfortable as sleeping with me.

But let’s be honest, as soon as we open our bedroom door, they will race inside and jump on to our bed in a millisecond. It’s funny. Now I sleep with Sweetie (Happy passed away a couple years ago, I miss her so much😭) occasionally (weekend naps lol) on our guest bed or sofa. I love snuggling with my furbaby, especially during winter. I know it’s a sign of love and trust from my cat.
If you wonder why your cat loves sleeping with you? Here are a few reasons.
Warm: You are the best warmers to your cat! Both you and your cat will benefit from the heat of sharing a bed. There is nothing cosier than snuggling with your cat at night.
Comfortable: Nice sheets, soft fluffy blankets and duvets…your cat learn from you that the most comfortable spot in the house is your bed 🙂
Love: This is the main reason. It’s a way they show you that they love and trust you.

Happy passed away because of bone cancer and heart disease in December 2016. She’s my first pet and to me, she’s the best cat in the world.
When you come home after a day’s work, and you see your cat is still at the same spot where you left home in the morning, sometimes you may wonder “who is whose pet…” lol. The decision about whether or not to share your bed with your cat is a personal one. Some people aren’t able to sleep well with their cat, some people think it’s nothing more relaxing than snuggling into bed with a good book or movie at night. Do you sleep with your pet? Let us know in the comments!
That is so cute…
